Student with teacher being enrolledEveryone’s Telford College journey is different – and that’s what makes the campus such a vibrant and fascinating place to be.

There are many different ways for you to become a Telford College student.

You might apply for an academic, vocational or apprenticeship course as the next step of your journey after finishing school.

You may be looking for a change of career direction, and attend one of our open events to see what’s available.

You could be looking to return to education at a later stage in your career to top up your qualifications, or try something completely different.

Or you might be looking to expand your qualifications on a part-time basis, side-by-side with your day job.

Here are some of the key milestones on the Telford College student journey:

Attend an open event

We open our doors at regular intervals each academic year to showcase the curriculum and offer bite-sized demonstrations. It’s a great way to see our university-style campus, meet our friendly and knowledgeable teaching and support teams, and get a real feel of what life is like at Telford College.

Request advice and guidance

Our careers advice and guidance team can help you make the right decision. You can arrange a meeting to talk through our courses and discuss your career goals to make sure you are on the right pathway to meet your aspirations.

Apply for a place

You can apply for one of our courses at any time, even if you haven’t visited us yet, as long as you know which course, or combination of courses, you are looking for. It’s simple – just register using our online application system.

Attend and interview

Once you have applied, you will be contacted by our admissions team who will invite you into college for a chat with the team. They will talk to you in more detail about your preferred course, and find out a bit more about you.

Accept your offer

Assuming everything goes well at the interview, we will offer you a place, subject to any upcoming exams and/or evidence of existing qualifications. It is important you contact us to accept your offer, as this officially secures your place at Telford College.

Ace your exams

If you are sitting exams before starting with us, we wish you the best of luck in getting the grades you expect - or better! Your exam results are important, as our courses do have minimum entry requirements.

Apply for financial support

We will be in contact with you when our financial support portal is open for applications – in many instances, we could be able to offer support towards the cost of coming to college.

Attend a new students' day

Near the end of each academic year, we hold new students’ days. This is a chance for students who have accepted their place to get a general feel for college life, and spend the day in their curriculum area, getting to know the team.

Receive your enrolment information

Enrolment is the last step of your journey towards becoming a Telford College student. We will contact you before the summer with details of how to check and complete any additional information required – and explain when you need to come in for your enrolment appointment.

Summertime support

Our admission, careers and advice and guidance teams are here throughout the summer to answer any questions. Our curriculum teams will also be accessible, so any course-related queries can be answered. Just bear in mind that it may take a little longer for a response during the summer break.

Attend your enrolment appointment

This is the stage when the final bits of paperwork are completed. At the end of this process you will be issued with your college ID badge, and your initial timetable which outline your start date and time . . . once that’s done, you are now officially a Telford College student.
