This course gives you the opportunity to learn from health and social care experts, and to take part in work-related learning on placements in the community. These placements will give you an edge and can open the door to higher education or employment. The course includes equality, diversity and rights; human growth and development, safeguarding, and communication. Practical sessions will take place using our on-site resources including our ‘hospital room’ where you can try out new skills in a safe environment before going out into your placement setting. You’ll have a placement co-ordinator and assessment will be on a unit-by-unit approach including internallyassessed assignments and two externally marked. In year two, there’s also a short answer exam on anatomy and physiology. You can take GCSE maths alongside this course too.
